Our roots go back to 1950, and today we combine long industry experience with modern engineering and practical plant know-how.
Most of what we deliver today keeps existing installations efficient and up to date: fast service, honest lead times and documented quality on every component, produced in Denmark or within the EU. We work directly with plant managers and maintenance teams, in Denmark and across the world, and we ship wherever a factory needs us.
Our history is closely connected to the development of the Danish sugar and sweetener industry. Since 1950, the company has developed through several well-known names — DDS Engineering, Karl Krøyer, DDS-Krøyer, Niro-DDS, Niro A/S and today DSSE. Several generations of technology, equipment and process know-how have been carried forward through these transitions.
DDS, Danish Sugar Corporation Ltd., was established in 1872 and has since played a major role in sugar processing. The sweetener activities were started by the Danish inventor Mr. Karl Krøyer — just after World War II he developed the continuous starch converter which revolutionized the glucose industry at that time. In 1969 Karl Krøyer’s sweetener activities were acquired by DDS, and DDS-Krøyer was created as a subsidiary to DDS.
Today DSSE is a family-owned company.
Being family-owned means long-term commitment, personal responsibility and close relationships with our customers.
We are engineers at heart — focused on solutions that work in real production, not just on paper.
Extraction, diffusion and crystallization equipment for beet and cane sugar production.
Process equipment and plants for starch and sweetener production — from maltodextrins to polyols.
Parts, refurbishment and technical advice from the engineers who built the originals.
Whether you need a new plant, an upgrade to existing equipment, or spare parts for your factory, we are ready to help.
